Guys and Dolls
For the past two years costume designer Greg LaVoi has photographed his favorite classic Barbies in front of local landmarks: "Gay Parisienne" Barbie shopping at Bullocks Wilshire, "Tropicana" Barbie and friend Julia checking out Watts Towers. All the sight-seeing fun is captured in Barbie Loves L.A., which will be published this month by Santa Monica's Angel City Press. A lover of the winsome blond since 1962, LaVoi has more than 150 dolls in his collection.
