Pink's Hot Dogs 709 North La Brea Avenue at Melrose Avenue, Melrose District (1-323 931-4223). Bus 10, 11, 212/I-10, exit La Brea Avenue north. Open 9:30am -2am Mon.-Thur, Sun; 9:30am - 3am Fri, Sat. Average $7. No credit cards. This little hot dog stand has been pulling in the punters since Paul Pink started his business with a pushcart in 1939. His 'chili dogs' went on to become the most popular in L.A., drawing celebs along with a citywide clientele. It's one of L.A.'s few late-night eateries and has a great night-time vibe. The burgers and dogs are OK, too.
